In May 2016, VerdErg Renewable Energy was invited to take part in HR Wallingford’s lunch and learn programme and present the latest technological and environmental VETT research.
Having recently completed the Phase II fish trials at HR Wallingford’s Froude Modelling Hall and stimulated much interest with technical personnel outside of the project; it was an excellent opportunity to provide them with an overview of VETT’s principles and its application for run-of-river schemes. The test lab set up of the full scale Coaxial VETT, experimental approach developed in collaboration with Fishtek Consulting and results of the successful fish trials were also presented.
A project update was also given on VerdErg’s Energy Catalyst Early Stage technical feasibility study and the latest research and design solutions on bi-directional VETT for tidal applications were showcased.
This Exchange Forum, aimed at presenting new developments in coastal engineering and environmental hydraulics, provided a platform to promote knowledge transfer and exchange best practice. VerdErg were pleased to have engaged with this world renowned water and hydraulics engineering organisation and promote and disseminate the attributes of VETT technology within the water sector.
